This
year’s poster features the artist’s wife, Carolyn, at
dusk, paddling her canoe on Suttle Lake. Fish are
rising to feed, creating circular ripples on the water’s
surface. As these ripples touch one another, they
metamorphose into a Double Wedding Ring pattern. Water
has played an important role in some major changes in
Paul’s life. He and Carolyn met at Suttle Lake. They
were married at a friend’s house, on a small island in
the center of a large pond. Paul & the minister rowed
out to the island together and Carolyn paddled out to
join them. After the ceremony they all jumped into the
water together! Paul Alan Bennett’s peaceful
illustration captures those memories for all of us to
enjoy.
