This year’s poster features the artist’s wife, Carolyn, at dusk, paddling her canoe on Suttle Lake.  Fish are rising to feed, creating circular ripples on the water’s surface.  As these ripples touch one another, they metamorphose into a Double Wedding Ring pattern.  Water has played an important role in some major changes in Paul’s life.  He and Carolyn met at Suttle Lake.  They were married at a friend’s house, on a small island in the center of a large pond.  Paul & the minister rowed out to the island together and Carolyn paddled out to join them.  After the ceremony they all jumped into the water together!  Paul Alan Bennett’s peaceful illustration captures those memories for all of us to enjoy.

Paul Alan Bennett, an award winning professional artist, educator, and art advocate lives and works in Sisters, Oregon.  Paul's artwork is passionately detailed and manifests a unique perspective and style resulting in colorful, vivid imagery sought after and collected nationally.  Paul has excelled in the field of watercolor and most recently in the release of a select group of Limited Edition Fine Art Giclee Prints and works closely with Pendleton Woolen Mills to release limited edition tapestry blankets.  An honors graduate of Maryland Institute of Art and Master of Arts from The University of La Verne (Athens Greece), his style and perspective originate from memories, life experiences and travels that spark the playfulness in this Sisters artist.

The Stitchin’ Post of Sisters, Oregon has exclusive rights to produce and sell official Quilt Show merchandise utilizing Paul's image.  Please click here to browse the t-shirts, posters, mugs and other official memorabilia available for purchase.
